Next Steps
Over the past two weeks since submissions closed, I’ve realized just how much potential this jam project has to grow into a fully developed game. To support that vision, I completely rebuilt the game from the ground up, establishing a robust framework designed for scalability and future expansion.
Recently implemented features include:
- Basic NPCs and Basic Dialogue
- Parkour Ledge Grabs
- Physics-Based Interactions with Water
- Dynamic Day/Night Cycle - [most likely to get scrapped due to performance issues, or completely reworked]
- Weather Effects
- Swimming
Planned features include:
- Simple Quest System
- Basic Dialogue Choices
- Hidden Collectibles
- Speedrunning
- Accessibility Options/Options Menu
Once these features are implemented and refined, I’ll shift focus toward developing the game’s story and polished assets. In the meantime, I’m working on a vertical slice tutorial level. This will serve as a hands-on introduction to the core mechanics. Upon completion, it will mark the release of Beta 1.0.0, after which full production of the game will begin. The tutorial is primarily a testbed to ensure all systems work seamlessly before building out the larger experience.
